After 34 years of being a special education teacher, I retired to pursue a career in counseling. I enjoy working with all ages and have a passion for working with clients who have experienced trauma. I pursued additional training in sandtray therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and eye movement, desensitization, and reprocessing (EMDR). I believe through education and trauma-informed techniques, clients can learn to manage their distressing symptoms and improve daily functioning. I have also pursued additional training in domestic violence and am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC).
I have a suite of two offices with a private waiting area on the first floor of a handicapped accessible building of professional offices located in Bartlett. During the first session, we will discuss what you would like to achieve in therapy and work together to create a treatment plan that will help direct our work together. We will periodically review this plan to determine if goals have been met or new goals need to be added. I prefer in-person therapy but am open to telehealth if that is preferred. I schedule sessions from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm on Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday, and 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturdays. I will work with you to find a time that works with your schedule.
